HDA Support

The HDA has a team of Specialist HD Advisers who provide advice to families, carers, friends and professionals in relation to Huntington’s Disease.

There are a range of branches and support groups across England and Wales.

For advice from other people with HD or who are linked to HD a message board is available.

Carers Trust

Carers support works to improve support, services and recognition for unpaid carers. They provide access to respite breaks, information and advice, education, training and employment opportunities.

Crossroads Care and the Princess Royal Trust for Carers have merged to form the Carers Trust.

Exists for all individuals that act as carers, for disabled, elderly or frail people. It offers advice and information on all aspects of caring, to both carers and professionals.

UK Home Care Association

The UK home care association can give details of home care providers who follow their code of practice. They also produce a leaflet ‘choosing care in your home’.

Young Carers

An on-line support service for young people aged 18 and under in the UK, who look after someone in their family who has an illness, disability, drug/alcohol addiction or mental health condition.
